We want to welcome you to SFC. Scottsdale Family Church is committed to connecting people to God, to others and to opportunities to make a difference.
Service Times ::
Worship service is each Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
During this time, there are age group ministries for children:
Youth (grades 6-12) meet Wednesday night, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Our Vision ::
Imagine a gathering of people, people of different ages, experiences, and backgrounds - people with different stories - who come together, joining their varied life stories into the story of God. They have surrendered themselves, embracing the transforming hope of Jesus, and have committed themselves to God's desire to bring wholeness to the world, one person at a time. They are no longer in it for themselves, but they are focused on God and extending his love to others.
They possess the courage to pursue God-sized dreams, the passion to develop Jesus-centered disciples and the energy and resources to unleash Spirit-led ministries that will reveal the hope and love of Jesus to their community. They boldly believe that their city will be transformed, that their world will be changed, as they compassionately serve others.
Their concern is not convincing the people of the city to come into their church, but sending the people of their church into their city to demonstrate God's love. Their desire is that people will be drawn to God not simply by incredible worship services or attractive programs, but by experiencing their unmistakable Jesus-like lifestyles. They are committed to not merely doing Jesus "stuff" but to truly living as Jesus in their city.
This gathering of people is Scottsdale Family Church - where the hope of Jesus is revealed, where no one stands alone and where everyone makes a difference. SFC, where action fueled by God's love will change the world.
History ::
Scottsdale Family Church launched its first public service on September 15, 1996 with a handful of people who met at Laguna Elementary School. The church outgrew the school and expanded to the Piper Boys & Girls Club. In 2002, the congregation purchased property at 9400 E. Mountain View Rd and after remodeling, moved into the new building on Easter 2003.
Beliefs ::
We desire to help you connect with God through the ageless truths of Christ as expressed in the Bible; to help you see how God wants to interact with your life 24/7. We adhere to the basic beliefs of Christian faith as summarized in the following statements:
1. Every human has a soul, a spiritual realm that connects his or her life together in whole. Each of us was made in the image of our Creator, designed to have a personal relationship with God.
2. Unfortunately, this relationship was broken and each of us has a spiritual disconnect with God in our original state. No matter how hard we try, we can’t mend the connection. We’re all in different places in our path of knowing God.
3. According to the Bible, God loved us so much that he wanted us to have a relationship with him so he paid the price which involved sending his son, Jesus, to come and die for us so we’d have the option of knowing God.
4. The best way to grow your soul is via the Bible, which of course is based on faith, but we’re stuck on the ageless tenants of orthodox Christianity which promotes a personal relationship that is meaningful, dynamic, and transformational.
5. We believe that the best way to grow is in community, where people help you be accountable, provide support, and where you can enjoy the process that is often challenging and even painful. We’re all in this together.
